I\u2019m interested in the shapes, structures, and different parts that make up buildings and spaces.<\/p><p>My process is collage-based. I usually start with an architectural space or detail that I\u2019m drawn to, then break it apart into smaller pieces. I look at things like stairs, walls, windows, balconies, outlines, and the way different structures overlap. I think about the pieces almost like Tetris or a puzzle, moving them around until they start to work together.<\/p><p>I\u2019m not trying to recreate an actual building. I use architecture as a starting point, then change the perspective, overlap different spaces, and create structures that feel familiar but don\u2019t completely make sense. I use solid black shapes, negative space, texture, and pastel colors to balance the heavier architectural forms.<\/p><p>A lot of my work sits somewhere between architecture and abstraction.
